The Kraft Heinz Company has signed an agreement with Carlton Power, the UK energy infrastructure development company, to explore the development of a green hydrogen plant at its Kitt Green manufacturing plant in Wigan, UK. The 20 MW plant is earmarked to enter operation in 2026.

Chiyoda Corporation and Toyota Motor Corporation have signed a basic agreement to jointly develop a large-scale electrolysis system and establish a strategic partnership. The goal is to contribute to the achievement of the Japanese government’s targets for the introduction of electrolysis equipment, both in Japan and overseas.

Plug Power has signed a contract to deliver a Basic Engineering and Design Package (BEDP) for a 500 MW electrolyzer project in Europe. The contract, signed on 29 January 2024, increases Plug’s total amount of BEDP contracts to 4.1 GW. Plug started offering BEDPs to the market in 2022.

Electrolyser manufacturer Nel and zero-emissions transportation and infrastructure solutions provider Nikola have realigned their previous agreement, and at the same time, Nel will become Fortescue’s supplier for their 80 MW electrolyser, for a total consideration of ~USD 20 million.

Dutch green hydrogen producer VoltH2 has received a €20 million grant from the Just Transition Fund (JTF) for two of its green hydrogen plants. These plants will be built in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen/Vlissingen-Oost, one of the regions in the Netherlands receiving European support to facilitate the transition from fossil to green energy.
