Water electrolyzers are electrochemical devices used to split water into its constituent elements, hydrogen and oxygen, by passage of an electrical current. There are four main types of electrolyzers: alkaline and proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyzers are already mature, while anion exchange membrane (AEM) and solid oxide electrolyzers are still under development. These technologies differ in numerous ways, most notably in cell design and variations within components. The University of Sheffield has successfully bolstered its efforts to decarbonise the aviation industry by increasing its green hydrogen production capacity, following the successful commissioning of a new PEM electrolyser designed and built by IMI Remosa.
Hexagon Purus has expanded its primary manufacturing facility in Weeze, Germany, for the engineering and production of hydrogen infrastructure products, including systems for distribution, refueling, and stationary storage, thereby ramping up its capacity to meet growing customer demand for hydrogen infrastructure solutions.
Lhyfe and EDP Renewables have signed a 15-year Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (CPPA), under which Lhyfe will buy renewable energy generated by a 39 MWac (55 MWp) solar project in Germany developed by EDPR, through Kronos Solar EDPR, expected to be connected to the grid in 2025.

H2SEA and Delft University of Technology have conducted a study to assess the structural feasibility of monopile-based support structures for offshore wind turbines in the North Sea, focusing on their capability to support decentralized hydrogen production.
Lhyfe and Source Galileo today announced their joint agreement to develop green hydrogen production facilities in the UK and Ireland. Under the agreement, the two companies will combine their expertise to generate and supply renewable hydrogen to a variety of customers across industry and transport.
Hyperfuel Labs, a new venture founded by MIT and Harvard alumni, has announced the launch of its industrial-scale testbed and accelerator for hydrogen startups in Houston, Texas. The facility will provide a unique platform for validating, scaling, and commercializing innovative hydrogen solutions.
