Accelera™ by Cummins, the zero-emissions business segment of Cummins Inc., today marked the start of operations for electrolyzer production in Fridley, Minnesota – its first electrolyzer production site in the United States. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by federal, state and local U.S. officials.

thyssenkrupp nucera has introduced a new product name for its 20 MW alkaline electrolysis module, which will henceforth be called ‘scalum’. The new product name is derived from the term ‘scale’ and pays tribute to the module’s scalability, interconnecting multiple modules to very high plant capacities.

Electric Hydrogen (EH), a manufacturer of advanced, industrial-scale electrolyzers, has announced the location of its first factory in Devens, Massachusetts. The factory will have an annual manufacturing capacity of 1.2 GW, with production of EH2’s 100 MW electrolyzers commencing in Q1 2024.

Technip Energies and John Cockerill have announced the launch of Rely. The new company will offer end-to-end green hydrogen solutions, from pre-FID services including technical & financial advisory through to proprietary products, project execution and operation and maintenance.

Nel has announced its plans to build a new automated gigawatt electrolyser manufacturing facility in Michigan. When fully developed, the facility will have a production capacity of up to 4 GW of alkaline and PEM electrolysers, making it one of the largest electrolyser manufacturing plants in the world.

Bloom Energy has begun generating hydrogen from the world’s largest solid oxide electrolyzer installation at NASA’s Ames Research Center. This high-temperature unit produces 20–25% more hydrogen per MW than commercially demonstrated lower-temperature electrolyzers such as PEM or alkaline.

Neste is working on a 120 MW electrolyzer project to produce green hydrogen at its Porvoo refinery in Finland. The company has now decided to proceed to the basic engineering phase with the project. The investment decision readiness is expected to be reached in early 2024.

In Herning, Denmark, Topsoe is constructing the first industrial-scale SOEC facility to manufacture electrolyzers to produce green hydrogen. Expected to be operational by 2025, the 23,000 m² plant will have an initial annual manufacturing capacity of 500 MW, with an option to expand to 5 GW.

Today, H-TEC SYSTEMS held the official groundbreaking ceremony for its new factory in Hamburg’s Rahlstedt quarter. The new H-TEC SYSTEMS Stack Manufacturing & Development Center will combine PEM electrolysis stack development, production, testing and service.

dynaCERT and Cipher Neutron have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Molibdenos y Metales (Molymet) to jointly develop, produce and market state-of-the-art hydrogen technology, including AEM electrolyser technology, that will be custom designed to produce green hydrogen for Molymet’s facilities.
