Power to Hydrogen has raised over USD 18 million to scale and deploy anion exchange membrane (AEM) electrolysis technology. The Series A funding round brings together financial and industrial investors from around the globe to pair with U.S. and European government support in bringing the technology to market.

Next Hydrogen has announced that it has been awarded a contract by the University of Minnesota (UMN) for its latest-generation alkaline water electrolysis technology to be installed at the UMN West Central Research and Outreach Center (WCROC).

ITM Power has announced the signing of a contract for the REFHYNE II project, following Shell’s recent positive Final Investment Decision (FID). ITM will supply 100 MW of TRIDENT stacks and skids to the Shell Rheinland Energy and Chemicals Park in Germany. Linde Engineering has been chosen as the EPC integrator and will collaborate closely with ITM.

German utility RWE has commissioned its pilot electrolyzer plant in Lingen, Germany. The facility, located at RWE’s Emsland gas-fired power plant site, has a capacity of 14 MW and can generate up to 270 kilograms of green hydrogen per hour using renewable electricity.

Metacon AB has been awarded a contract to supply a 30 MW pressurised alkaline electrolysis plant for hydrogen production to Motor Oil (Hellas) Corinth Refineries S.A., Greece. The contract is valued at €19.8 million, equivalent to approximately SEK 226 million at today’s exchange rate.

DENSO Corporation and JERA Co., Inc. have announced that they will jointly develop high-efficiency hydrogen generation technology that combines SOEC with waste heat utilization and conduct joint demonstration testing at a JERA thermal power station.

Siemens Energy has been awarded a contract to supply a 280-megawatt electrolysis system by German utility EWE. The plant in the German city of Emden is expected to go into operation in 2027 and will provide up to 26,000 tons of green hydrogen annually for various industrial applications in the region.

Shell Deutschland GmbH has taken a Final Investment Decision (FID) to progress REFHYNE II, a 100-MW PEM electrolyser at the Shell Energy and Chemicals Park Rheinland in Germany. Using renewable electricity, REFHYNE II is expected to produce up to 44,000 kilograms of hydrogen per day to partially decarbonise site operations.

Ceres has signed a global long-term licence agreement for the manufacture of its proprietary solid oxide electrolyser cell (SOEC) technology with a global original equipment manufacturer (OEM) headquartered in the Asia Pacific region. The agreement provides revenues for licence fees, engineering services and hardware over multiple years.
