Bloom Energy and SK ecoplant, a subsidiary of South Korean conglomerate SK Group, have announced a sale of Bloom’s electrolyzer technology to deploy hydrogen as an energy source in a large-scale green hydrogen demonstration with the Korea Southern Power Co., Ltd and local government.

Plug Power has completed the installation and commissioning of an electrolyzer system at Amazon’s fulfillment center in Aurora, Colorado. This 1 MW PEM electrolyzer, the first for Amazon, is producing low-carbon hydrogen to fuel more than 225 hydrogen fuel cell-powered forklift trucks at the site, known as DEN8.

Convion and Elcogen have successfully completed a 2,000-hour field test of Convion’s solid oxide electrolyser, equipped with Elcogen’s cell technology. The test validated the high performance and reliable operability of the solid oxide technology, which boasts superior efficiency compared to incumbent electrolyser technologies.

Norwegian electrolyser developer and manufacturer Hystar has received funding from the Research Council of Norway for a new R&D project named HYSTACK-II. The funding of over NOK 17 million (approximately €1.5 million) will be used by the company to further develop its PEM electrolyser stack.

SANY Hydrogen, the hydrogen energy subsidiary of the heavy machinery manufacturer SANY Heavy Industry, has announced the launch of its latest green hydrogen production solution: the new S Series integrated GW-grade square electrolyzer, which is capable of producing 3,000 standard cubic meters (scm) of hydrogen per hour.

H2 Energy Europe, a developer of large-scale green hydrogen eco-systems, has been granted funding from the UK government’s Hydrogen Business Model and Net Zero Hydrogen Fund for its 20 MW electrolytic hydrogen production facility at the port of Milford Haven, the first of its kind in South Wales.

The EU’s Innovation Fund has awarded Topsoe €94 million for the construction of the company’s first electrolyzer manufacturing facility in Herning, Denmark. The factory is expected to be operational by 2024 and will produce Solid Oxide Electrolyzer Cells (SOEC). Initial production capacity is 500 MW, with the option to expand further.
