Luxfer Gas Cylinders and Hypermotive to develop gas control technology for pressurised hydrogen storage

Luxfer Gas Cylinders and Hypermotive have partnered to offer an automated solution for managing hydrogen storage, filling, and distribution. Through this partnership, Hypermotive will develop a digital control system for pressurised hydrogen gas storage, based on their SYSTEM-H technology.
Used in conjunction with Luxfer’s G-Stor® Hydrosphere Multiple Element Gas Container (MEGC), thetechnology will provide customers with an intelligent system that leverages analytics to monitor deliveries and optimise asset performance.

The aim of the collaboration is to introduce a product that will significantly reduce operational complexity and cost, optimising asset efficiency and lowering barriers to entry for OEMs and suppliers.

Nick Herbert, Sales and Marketing Director at Luxfer Gas Cylinders Europe, said: “Luxfer and Hypermotive share a strong focus on innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction, and we are thrilled to be working together on this industry leading solution. By combining our expertise in hydrogen storage solutions with Hypermotive’s leadership in hydrogen integration and control technologies, we aim to accelerate the adoption of hydrogen across a range of industries.”

Adam Huckstep, CEO of Hypermotive’s, added: “Utilising our well-proven SYSTEM-H technology in collaboration with Luxfer’s MEGC’s to create innovative, intelligent products is an exciting step for us and the industry as a whole. Our combined expertise will enable the hydrogen sector to build infrastructure and accelerate the wider adoption of zero emission technologies by reducing the cost and complexity of delivering hydrogen to where it’s needed.”

As part of the collaboration, the companies will also explore further opportunities for product development across hydrogen storage, distribution, and mobility.
