The PhoeniX HPO uses both real-time data and predictive data, such as weather forecasts and dynamic electricity prices. Advanced algorithms analyse this data and calculate the optimal use of electricity for hydrogen production at the lowest possible price.
This hardware–software solution can be applied to any solar park or wind farm, regardless of whether a battery system (BESS) is installed or if there is a connection to the power grid. The Phoenix HPO continuously makes considerations for the optimal use of the produced electricity and can switch between the various customers almost immediately.
Jan Thijs Maatman, Business Development Director at eFuelution, said: “The energy transition is in full swing and there are many initiatives for better system integration to prevent grid congestion. Simple solutions no longer work, and we expect to make a significant contribution to reducing the production costs of green hydrogen. Our vision with the Phoenix HPO is to provide the (central and decentralized) hydrogen industry with a smart, integrated tool that is needed to accelerate the energy transition. By optimising both software and hardware, we are helping our customers to deliver green hydrogen at the lowest possible cost, making an important contribution to achieving the 2030 goals while meeting the RED (III).”
eFuelution is collaborating with Siemens Digital Industries on the PhoeniX HPO, leveraging Siemens’s extensive knowledge to control solar, wind, and electrolyser systems to ensure the functionality and uptime of the PhoeniX HPO.
“We are delighted that Siemens recognized the potential of the Phoenix HPO at an early stage and entered into a partnership with us for the further development of the system,” said Jan Thijs Maatman. “Thanks to its smart real-time optimization capabilities, our integrated hardware and software system is able to streamline input and output, significantly reduce costs, and increase hydrogen production.”
