ANDRITZ to conduct engineering study for E.ON’s green hydrogen project in Essen

E.ON Hydrogen has selected ANDRITZ to conduct an engineering study for an electrolyzer plant in Essen, Germany. The contract includes feasibility and safety studies for the entire plant, covering hydrogen production, compression, storage, and trailer loading bays.

The study is expected to be completed in 2024.

E.ON Hydrogen, part of the E.ON Group – one of Europe’s largest energy network and infrastructure operators  –  plans to build a 20 MW plant in the Essen harbor area to produce 2,300 tons of green hydrogen per year. The hydrogen will be supplied to transportation companies and industries located near the harbor.

“We are honored that E.ON Hydrogen has chosen us as a partner and are eager to contribute to this important decarbonization project,” said Peter Eisenköck, VP Green Hydrogen at ANDRITZ. “We are committed to taking the lead in all aspects of project execution to ensure efficient implementation and support at every stage.”
