Norwegian Hydrogen to fuel MaserFrakt fleet

MaserFrakt and Norwegian Hydrogen have signed a long-term supply agreement for hydropower-based green hydrogen to decarbonize MaserFrakt’s heavy vehicle operations in Sweden.

The agreement has enabled the start of green hydrogen deliveries from Norwegian Hydrogen to MaserFrakt’s fleet, supporting a continued shift from fossil fuels to zero-emission operation in heavy transport.

Jens Berge, Chief Executive Officer of Norwegian Hydrogen, said: “Through this agreement, we show that green hydrogen is already a competitive and sustainable alternative. Our neighbors in Sweden are really at the forefront of actual use of green hydrogen in a wide range of industrial and mobility applications, which is clearly shown in our steadily growing customer portfolio here. We really appreciate being an active part of this journey.”

For MaserFrakt, the supply deal forms part of a long-term commitment to sustainability and emissions reduction for customers and society. “Our customers are increasingly demanding environmentally friendly logistics solutions. With trucks powered by green hydrogen, we can reduce our carbon footprint without compromising capacity or availability,” said Per Bondemark, Chief Executive Officer of MaserFrakt.

The agreement has been developed in close cooperation with TRB Sverige AB, which is an active party in MaserFrakt’s hydrogen initiative. TRB has played a central role in structuring the commercial business model and in negotiations on the delivery arrangement. As a partner company in the TRB network, MaserFrakt participates in joint strategic initiatives aimed at accelerating climate-neutral solutions for heavy transport in Sweden.

The green hydrogen supplied to MaserFrakt is produced in Norway, and Norwegian Hydrogen has several additional green hydrogen production projects under development to support its Swedish customers, which the partners said further strengthens the basis for this collaboration.
