Shell Deutschland secures 100 MW of ITM Power electrolyser stacks for Refhyne 2 project

ITM Power has signed a capacity reservation agreement with Shell Deutschland GmbH. Under this agreement, Shell has reserved the future production capacity for 100 MW of TRIDENT electrolyser stacks. These stacks are set to be manufactured between 2025 and 2026 for the Refhyne 2 project.

The project, awaiting a final investment decision, is situated at the Shell Energy and Chemicals Park in Rhineland, Germany.

Dennis Schulz, CEO of ITM Power, said: “Today’s announcement is yet another validation of our technology and credibility to deliver at scale, providing reassuring recognition by a world-leading industrial customer. The capacity reservation also reflects the upcoming challenge for customers to secure credible large-scale delivery capability within the PEM electrolyser sphere, against a quickly growing demand.”
