thyssenkrupp nucera completes acquisition of Green Hydrogen Systems assets

thyssenkrupp nucera has completed the acquisition of key technology assets from Danish company Green Hydrogen Systems (GHS), as announced in June.

The transaction, finalised following regulatory approvals and the consent of the court-appointed insolvency administrator, includes intellectual property and a test facility with a full-size prototype in Skive, Denmark.

With this acquisition, thyssenkrupp nucera strengthens its positioning in alkaline water electrolysis (AWE), adding a focus on pressurised solutions. The technology enables hydrogen production at operating pressures of up to 35 bar, offering a significant advantage for industrial applications requiring compressed hydrogen.

The transaction, fully financed from existing liquidity, was concluded for a purchase price in the high single-digit million euro range. It forms part of thyssenkrupp nucera’s strategy to advance its development roadmap and foster innovation, further reinforcing the company’s position as a global leader in green hydrogen technology.
